NextGen Pulaski
Pulaski on Main’s Young Ambassador Program
The Pulaski on Main’s Young Ambassador Program, NextGen Pulaski, will be designed to empower high school and college students to participate in downtown revitalization, leadership development, and community engagement through Pulaski on Main. At Pulaski on Main, we have a strong base of adult volunteers and community champions, but we are missing the critical voice of young people. In order to have a successful downtown in 5-10 years, we need to start cultivating that engagement now with the next generation of business owners, renters, shoppers, artists, volunteers, and leaders.
NextGen is designed to bring authentic youth insight into our planning and decision-making. This program will create a pipeline for future leaders right here in Pulaski. This will also strengthen ties with local schools, parents, and a broader community while providing meaningful service opportunities for students who need volunteer hours.
We will be accepting applications for 3-4 motivated high school or college students in our community. Each ambassador will be responsible for attending one board meeting per quarter, monthly check-ins with the POM Executive Director, support at least 2 downtown events per year, and participate in youth-centered feedback projects. An official certificate of completion after 1-year, professional experience to add to their resume, letters of recommendation, and direct connection to community leaders and business owners are just a few of the benefits each student will have.
All applications are due by January 1, 2026, with the program starting by January 14, 2026. For further questions, please reach out to Sarah at pulaskionmain@gmail.com. We look forward to reading your application!
